Congressional Visits Day
Certified professionals are highly effective advocates for food, agriculture, and natural resources research funding. Our inaugural CCA Congressional Visits Day gives certified crop advisers an opportunity to engage with Capitol Hill and show the value and impact of their work.
The 2023 CCA Congressional Visits Day will be held on Jul 10-11, 2023 in Washington, DC.
What will you gain from attending?
- Learn the basics of advocacy and how to have successful, effective meetings with your elected officials
- Advocate on behalf of the CCA community's priorities for the 2023 Farm Bill
- Build relationships with Congressional staff and other key partners
- Impact the future value and direction of the CCA profession
Registration
Interested CCAs can register using the following link. Registrations will not be accepted after June 15th.
Tentative Agenda
Monday, July 10
- 12-1pm: Lunch and Registration
- 1-5pm: Training
- 6-8pm: Evening Reception with participants and partners
Tuesday, July 11
- 9am-5pm: Visits with Representatives and Senators on Capitol Hill
- 12-1pm: Congressional Briefing on CCA Farm Bill Priorities
- 4-6pm: Debrief and Happy Hour
Eligibility and Costs
The event is open to any CCA who is interested in advocacy. ICCA will cover costs for training and meals, but participating CCAs will be required to cover their own travel and lodging. We encourage local boards to help CCAs cover these expenses.
Lodging
A room block is available at the Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol (33 New York Avenue NE, Washington, DC 20002). Rooms can be reserved for the rate of $209.00/night.
